Kwara Seeks Emirate's Support on Polio.
The Kwara State Immunisation Officer, Hajia Hajarat Suleiman, has solicited the support of Ilorin Emirate in the fight against polio. While on a sensitization visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, Hajia Hajarat lamented that some “disgruntled elements” are spreading rumour to dissuade parents from presenting their kids for immunization.
She said the visit was to sensitize the emirate on the problems faced by officials of the ministry to effectively administer vaccines to children in the state. Responding, the emir who was represented by Alhaji Mahmud Atiku, the Balogun Fulani of Ilorin, said some politicians were using wrong propaganda to dissuade people from having their children immunised.
