2015: Saraki Urges Nigerians To Vote PDP Out
The chairman, Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Dr Bukola Saraki has asked Nigerians not to be afraid of voting out the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the next general election just because the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not held federal offices before now.
The former governor of Kwara State who acknowledged what he described as the fears of Nigerians over voting out the PDP said the ruling party had been adjudged as a failed party but that Nigerians wanted to be assured that the alternative APC would also not disappoint the electorate.
Saraki during an interview with newsmen in Ilorin yesterday said the APC had realised the issue of fear from the electorate and was now ready to begin a series of moves to allay the fears.
The move, he said, would begin in the next few months.
He said refusing to vote out a failed government just because voters fear that they have not experienced the abilities of the alternative party at the same level of office will be a disservice to democracy.
He expressed the readiness to accommodate his former followers who stayed behind in the PDP but are now being pushed to the background in the party.
