Press Release: Be security conscious Kwara PDP warn KWSG
This has further showed that the All Progressive Congress (APC), government in the state is not security conscious and has decided to also turn the stadium complex to a conduit-pipe for which to siphon the tax-payers money as it claimed to have spent N1.4 billion on the stadium earmarked in the last year's budget.
While APC government focused attention on sporting environments such as the main-bow and indoor-sports hall, it ignorantly neglected the entire premises and living environments is such a bad condition that can further pose security threat on residents.
As we all know, the State Stadium Complex also accommodates students of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) who have come from far and near in search for the realization of their dream of becoming world football star.
Apart from the fact that the environment is not well kept for sporting activities as it portrayed the look of a jungle, it is also not safe for the caliber of people living there owing to the persistent insecurity bedeviling the nation as we in the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) believe strongly in the welfare of the entire people living in the state.
There is no gain saying that parents of the said KFA students are of the hope that their children/wards are in a safe hand and place but our question is that how safe is the place as free entry and exit of motorists and pedestrians characterized the Stadium Complex without armed security personnel?
We therefore warned that taking bond is not the solution to the lack of infrastructural development in Kwara State rather; the desirable is the prudent and efficient usage of the available resources with utmost priority on the well-being of the masses.
Once again, we condemn the attempt N23 billion bond proposal and warned financial institutions to trade with the Kwara State Government with care at this time as the incoming PDP government will not be responsible for any debt incurred by APC in the name of bond at the expiration of their tenure in 2015.
