Kwara Govt tasked on manpower to tackle environmental challenges
The Registrar, Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria, Mr. Augustine Ebisike, has called for sufficient manpower to tackle environmental challenges in Kwara State, while commending the state government for its efforts towards the uplift of the environment health profession.
Ebisike, who made this call while speaking at the Environmental Health Officers Association Week 2014 held at the NUJ Press Centre in Ilorin, noted that the state has not witnessed any major environmental crisis following the efforts of the state government.The Registrar, who presented a paper on 'Waste management: Reaping the benefit of waste recycling for economic growth and employment opportunity in Kwara State', explained that there is need for more proactive measure to safeguard future environmental hazard.
He charged all environmental health officers to brace-up to their responsibilities in order to create a safe, clean and conducive environment in the state.
While commending national executive members of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria, the state Commissioner of Environment and Forestry, Mr Usman Abubakar Mora in his speech, charged environmental retirees to continue to impact their professional experience on their younger colleagues.
