Kwara State not in bondage - APC tells PDP
The APC made the statement in its reaction to a statement credited to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Senator Simeon Ajibola that he will free Kwara state from bondage.
In a statement, signed by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari, the party said Kwara State is not in bondage while describing Senator Ajibola as an unserious candidate without vision and manifestos.
“We note the recent failed attempt by Senator Ajibola to gain cheap popularity by making reckless and unfounded comments and allegations about the APC-led government in Kwara State.
“It is ungubernatorial for a governorship candidate to make such reckless and uninformed comments. And it clearly shows that Senator Ajibola is unfit to govern Kwara State. He obviously needs tutelage and coaching.
“Senator Ajibola as a serving senator of about 12years has not shown competence and responsibility. What has he done for the people of his primary community, Isapa? What has he done for the people of his senatorial district? Nothing! We challenge him to publish the record of his activities at the National Assembly and his constituency projects since 2003. If he couldn’t adequately represent a senatorial district which is just one-third in the geography of Kwara State, he cannot be trusted to govern our dear state.
“We also challenge Senator Ajibola to come out in clear terms what he meant by Kwara State is in bondage or shut up forever.
“The allegation of capital flight made by Senator Ajibola is unfounded and untrue. The Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed-led administration has aways made the people of Kwara State the primary focus of all developmental projects and contracts”, he stated.
