Ajibola assures non-indigenes in Kwara
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, governorship flag- bearer in Kwara state, Senator Simeon Ajibola, has assured the people of the state that his government would not discriminate against non-indigenes in the state.
Ajibola gave the assurance on Tuesday in his New Year message to the people of the state.
The flag bearer who felicitated with the entire people of the state for witnessing yet another new year, promised better deals for them in 2015 if he gets into office.
Ajibola appealed to all the people of the state to be patient as freedom from bondage and political slavery was in sight.
Ajibola declared that both indigenes and non-indigenes in the state would be given equal rights and treatment as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution.
He added that non- indigenes living in the state should not entertain any fear of discrimination as Kwara belongs to everybody, irrespective of creed, birth place or political leaning.
“Whatever PDP government does for the state indigenes, would also be done for non-indigenes”, Ajibola said, adding that the free education that the PDP government would embark upon, immediately it gets to office, would also be enjoyed by children of non-indigenes.
Ajibola assured non indigenes that the welfare package for old people to be launched once the PDP gets into power would be extended to the Hausa, Ibo or any other tribe in Kwara.
“Our free health service to children below the age of five years and free pre- and post-natal treatment for pregnant women would include non-indigenes in the state”, he added.
He said the PDP government would always carry non indigenes in the state along in its programmes and activities as leadership of these non-indigenes have declared their support for the party.
“All the welfare programmes of PDP led government in Kwara would be extended to non-indigenes, because they live in Kwara, do their businesses and pay their taxes to the state”, Ajibola added.
He also promised the youths of his government’s commitment to take adequate care of their welfare as he would create enough jobs for them.
According to him the, all the entitlements of pensioners in the state would be paid promptly.
