PDP has postponed evil days - Saraki

The leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki on Saturday in Ilorin declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its evil days through election postponement.

He said whenever the general elections were postponed to, APC would win hands down.

Saraki who was speaking at the APC Ajikobi Central Ward Secretariat, Okekere Area, Ilorin, during empowerment programme which he sponsored, said fear of losing the polls on the part of the PDP was the major reason for election postponement.

He said the PDP would lose in the 2015 polls because Nigerians were tired of the bad governance of the central government.

Saraki who represents Kwara Central Constituency at the National Assembly,    urged members and supporters of the APC not to be intimidated by the ploy of the PDP to disrupt the general elections.

He also advised Nigerians to vote wisely and defend their votes to prevent electoral fraud.

The APC leader who spoke through the state Commissioner for Energy, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, said the Kwara State chapter of the PDP had disintegrated because it was not properly rooted.

He said the empowerment programme was to consolidate his N1.64 million weekly empowerment programme to each polling units across the state.

While assuring the APC members and supporters across the state that more goodies would come their ways, he urged the beneficiaries to use the items for the intended purposes.

In their remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed on Poverty Alleviation, Hajia Ramat Usman and Director, Non-Governmental Affairs, Mandate Constituency office, Alhaji Ali Olola, advised APC members not to be deceived by the antics of the opposition party but remain focused in the course of moving the state forward.

The APC Ward Chairman in Ajikobi Central Ward, Alhaji Abdulkareem Araoyo who commended Senator Saraki for the gesture, urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but use them for the intended purposes.

The Youth Leader, Alhaji Abdulhamid Aajere also appreciated Senator Saraki for his various empowerment programmes aimed at making life more bearable for the less privileged and assured the APC leadership in the state of their continued support.

No fewer than 30 people benefited from the empowerment items which included generators, clippers, sewing machines and grinding machines

The beneficiaries, Abdulhamid Iyanda Ajetunmabi and Abdullateef Jeje among others who spoke with The Herald on Sunday thanked the donor for his passion at alleviating their sufferings through the empowerment programme and promised to make good use of the items.
