The Kwara State House of Assembly on Tuesday resumed its 7 weeks break, as the state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed sent the Kwara State Public Private Partnership Bill, 2015 to the House for consideration and passage into law.

The break was to enable members participate in the political activities to ensure the victory of their parties in the 2015 general elections.

Six members from the 7th legislature consequently returned to the House among the twenty-four APC members that had just been elected, while two other members including the Speaker, Barrister Razak Atunwa and Hon Tope Layonu were elected as members of the House of Representatives .

The returned members include, Barrister Kamaldeen Fagbemi, Hon Mashood Bakare, Hon Hassan Oyeleke, Hon Segilola Abdulkadir, Hon Sikirat Anako and Hon Ebun Owolabi.

The Speaker, Barrister Razak Atunwa who doubles as Director General, Mandate 2015 Campaign Organization while speaking on the just concluded general elections, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting free, fair and credible elections which were largely devoid of violence.

He particularly praised INEC chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega for initiating the use of card reader, noting that the use of card reader had reduced fraud and electoral malpractices to the barest minimum.

He said Mandate 2015 Campaign Organization was charged with diligent and vibrant campaign to ensure the victory of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the state.

He said he was happy to report to the House that the APC recorded total victory in all the polls in the state. He commended the security agencies for keeping to their professional ethics and callings in preventing violence during the elections.

He congratulated those who contested and won the elections especially members of the House who would return and those that have elevated to the National Assembly.

"The mandate given to us is the mandate of the people that must be guard jealously in order to deliver the wishes of the people to bring about progress and development to our dear state and the at large".

Meanwhile, Kwara State Public Private Partnership Bill sent to the House by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed seeks to among other things establish Kwara State Public Private Partnership Bureau to enhance infrastructural development in the state.

The governor in his massage which was read by Barrister Atunwa, urged the House to give the bill accelerated consideration and passage.

The Speaker committed the bill to House Committee on Rules and Business for further legislative action
