Govt urges positive sanitation habits

Date: 2012-06-04

The Kwara State Government has called on the general public to maintain good environment to allow free flow of water to check flooding.

This was contained in a statement signed by Hajia Adams on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). The release noted that there was need for the public to maintain tidy environment in their surroundings to check blockage of drainages.

The statement called for positive attitude towards environmental sanitation to discourage flooding and outbreak of waterborne diseases.

The public is hereby encouraged to cultivate positive attitude towards waste disposal to check blockage of drainages. We need to be conscious of the inherent danger that may result from unhealthy attitudes in the way we dispose wastes especially during this rainy season.

The release, finally called on the general public to support the laudable programmes of the state government by avoiding the blockage of water channels which causes flooding
