Kwara Governor wants good planning on allocation of resources
Poor planning is the major factor militating against optimal allocation of resources in Nigeria.
The Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed made this known at the 46th annual conference of the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners held in Ilorin.
Governor Ahmed frowned at the attitude of many Nigerians towards planning and advised the Institute to contribute meaningfully to policy formulation by coming up with powerful communique at the end of the conference.He stated the importance of physical planning and development to the layout of any city, stressing that "his administration would update Ilorin City Map among other towns in the state."
Master plan in states
The governor also called on government at all levels to implement new master plan with a view to attracting development to their various domains.
The National President of the institute, Dr. Femi Olomola praised the state government for the physical development of the state.
He urged the government to 'articulate physical and regional development plan of major towns,' to beautify the state.
