The newly constituted Board of Directors of Kwara State Water Corporation has been inaugurated at the Corporation Conference Room.

In his inaugural speech, the Chairman of the board, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Jimoh (Oje), stated that the mandate of the Board was to ensure production of water in sufficient quantity and good quality to the citizenry across the nooks and crannies of the state in accordance with the WHO standards.

He therefore enjoined members and the management to work as a team in order to achieve the mandate and assured the management of the board's readiness to complement their efforts at improving the corporation's internally generated revenue, and also promised to run an open door administration.

Earlier in his welcome address, the General Manager, Mr. Tunde Omoniyi Yahaya welcomed the board members and the representatives of government to the corporation and called on the board to suppot the management at implementing the government policy trust of ensuring that no Kwaran trek more than 500 metres before getting potable water. He pledged the management's preparedness to co-operate with the board to actualize policy and programmes of government on water provisions in the state.

Other members of the board are Hon. Duro Mohammed, Alhaji Yusuf Muheeb, Alhaji Adebayo Wahab Loro, Alhaja Wulemat Azeez and Alhaji Adamu Yusuf.
