In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir, Ahmad described the late elder statesman as an individual who ?had make his impact felt politically and contributed immensely to the advancement of the state.

He said further that the deceased was among political elders greatly depended on by the ruling party to achieve success ?at various elections, noting that the party must done everything possible to sustain the legacy left behind by the late politician.

Ahmad who enjoined other politicians in the state to emulate late Akanbi Oke's political style stated that throughout his lifetime, he never played politics of bitterness or encouraged political violence.

The speaker however ?sympathised with the Kwara State Government, Ilorin West Local Government and his immediate family, praying that Allah give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Also, he prayed that Allah in his infinite mercy grant the deceased Al-Janah Firdaus and be with the APC family in the state and Nigeria.
