The National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN), the umbrella of all youths in Kwara State has advised Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki not to succumb to any intimidation to step down as the president of the senate as he remained innocent until proved otherwise.
The NYCN however said the current battle of Senator Saraki was politically motivated by his political opponents who were envious of his rising profile.
In a statement issued in Ilorin yesterday by the state chairman of NYCN, Comrade Sheu Usman, he said, “We are confident and sure that soon Senator Bukola Saraki will be vindicated and acquitted from all the allegations”.
The statement said, “The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter wishes to state and affirm our unalloyed support to the president of the senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki in the current challenge faced at the Code of Conduct Tribunal”.
“Kwara youth believes that the current battle is politically motivated by his political opponents who are envious of his rising profile.
“As it has been stated and clearly shown to all Nigerians that this is not a case of financial misappropriation nor embezzlement but rather political persecution and witch hunt to distract him from his purposeful leadership of the national assembly.
“The teeming youths of Kwara call on politicians in the country to stop politics by considering the efforts of Senator Saraki in establishing a virile national assembly with good working relationship with the executive arm of government and also his invaluable contributions to the emergence of the present government of change we are enjoying in Nigeria today”.
The youths however advised senate president, Senator Saraki not to succumb to any form of intimidation to step down as the president of the senate as he is innocent until the court of law proves otherwise.
