Unilorin hosts Biodiversity Conservation Conference
The Nigeria Tropical Biology Association (NTBA), and the Nigeria Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology (NSCB), in collaboration with the University of Ilorin, will hold a Joint Biodiversity Conservation Conference from next Monday (June 20 to Friday (June 24, 2016).
A statement by the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Dr. F. D. Babalola, indicated that the Conference, which holds at the University Auditorium, is themed "MDGs to SDGs: Towards Sustainable Biodiversity Conservation in Nigeria".
According to the LOC Chairman, the Conference would be formally declared open on June 21, 2016 by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON).
"The Conference would be attended by about 200 conservation professionals and practitioners, with about 60 scientific presentations to be made", Dr. Babalola said, adding that "conservation organisations from different parts of Nigeria would also stage exhibitions at the conference". Members of the University community and the general public are cordially invited.
