Ramadan: Ahmed Urges Muslims To Pray For Peace, Unity And Sustenance Democracy
In a special message to Muslims in the state to mark the commencement of this year's Ramadan fast, Ahmed urged them to care for their neighbours, irrespective of religious leanings.
He stressed the need for Muslims to use the occasion to renew their commitment and belief in the corporate existence of the nation.
He noted that fasting was made compulsory for all able-bodied Muslims by Almighty Allah not only as an act of worship but to also recognise the virtues of brotherliness and perseverance expedient for peaceful human existence.
Ahmed enjoined family heads to make adequate provisions for their households during the fasting period.
He pointed out that bountiful blessings from Allah awaited such family heads for doing so in the holy month.
He also advised all wealthy Muslims to appreciate the pains of hunger by donating generously to the less privileged in this holy month of Ramadan.
Ahmed congratulated the Muslim community in the state for being alive to witness the commencement of the Ramadan fast, and reminded them that whatever good deeds they did in the holy month would be rewarded in multiple folds by Allah.
