Kwara : Education key to curbing crime - Deputy gov

Kwara State Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisira  has said eduction is a veritable tool to curb the increasing crime rate in the state as well as the country Nigeria.
“Education was key and one of the best way to reduce crime rate in the Society.”

Kisira stated this while conducting the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Engineer Musa Yeketi round one of his pet project shortly after donating School Uniforms and Sandals to the pupils of Charity Nomadic School, Laduba- Afon in Asa Local Government Area of the State.

The Deputy Governor explained that he created the School six months ago to give education to about ten fulani settlements in that area.

He stated that he had to provide borehole‎ to the people of the area when he saw them scooping water from a stagnant and unhygiene source.

Elder Kisira ‎called on wealthy individuals to assist the less privileged in the society in getting access to education and other social amenities.

The Deputy Governor restated the state government commitment to meet the yielding and aspiration of the people.

Responding, State Commissioner for Education, Engineer Yeketi who also decorated some of the Pupils commended the Deputy Governor for his commitment and zeal in equipping the School.

Engineer Yeketi stated that the idea was part of the State government
inclusive education and out of School Student programme.

He promised to look into the possibility of government taking over the School to meet the need of the Nomad.
