Kwara Hotel Flushes out Sex Workers

Date: 2012-08-16

Moved by National Pilot's story on the activities of Sex Workers at Kwara Hotel, the management of the hotel has swung into action to stop the activities.

National Pilot had in its July 19, exclusively revealed the activities of the sex workers, who had taken over the hotel as hideout for brink business.

The paper exclusively reported that the sex workers have found refuge at Ariya Garden, a place within the hotel. The garden has a bar and a stage where Musicians perform on bi-weekly basis (Wednesdays and Thursdays).

There, sex workers will sit patiently using their mobile phones on the pretext that they are waiting for their male counterparts.

But after about 30 minutes or an hour as the case may warrant, their body language and movement would suggest to the men who have come to relax the type of persons they are.

But the hotel management led by Mr. Mabasa Mwaziya, had put in place measures to stop the activities of Sex Workers within the hotel.

National Pilot reliably gathered that the hotel's management had given a standing-order to the hotel's security to ensure that Sex Workers do not operate in the hotel any more.

To this end, the hotel has put in place a standing rule that bars any lady who does not have any reason for visiting the hotel, the decision which made the sex workers to flee the hotel.

A visit to the hotel by our reporter Tuesday night revealed that it was no longer business as usual for the sex workers in view of the new arrangement.
