The tribunal ordered a re-run of the election within 90 days. In his judgement, the Chairman of the tribunal, Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Adeyanju, Kwara State Electoral Commission (KWAISIEC) did not adequately notify all parties on the date of the re-run elections. He also said the re-run did not comply with the State's Electoral Law of 2004.

Speaking on the verdict of the tribunal, the Publicity Secretary PDP in the state, Mas'ud Adebimpe, described the nullification of ACN victory in Offa LGA as a victory for democracy and people's will.

In his reaction, the media aide to the ACN governorship candidate in the last election, Mohammed Dele Belgore (SAN), Rafiu Ajakaye, said the party rejected the vertict and would appeal.

"We are shocked by the verdict of the lower tribunal. We reject and will appeal the verdict. In the meantime we urge our supporters to remain calm and peaceful, as we have the right of appeal and shall exercise same. There is no cause for alarm. We will give our full reaction later after studying the judgment", he said.
