Members of the Kwara State House of Assembly are to pay on the Spot-Assessment visit to the on going Kaiama-Kishi road to fast track the pace of work on the multi billion naira federal government road project.

The House resolved to pay on the spot-Assessment visit to the road, following a Matter of Urgent Public Importance raised by member representing Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe Constituency Hon. Ahmed Ibn Mohammed, on the slow pace of work on the 63km Federal Government road project.

The Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad, while reading the resolutions of the House, directed that the contractor handling the project, along with the State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya to appear before the Committee of the Whole of the House, at the site of the project, to explain why not much had been done on the road project in which N1.1bn had been so far released, to the contractor.

Dr. Ahmed explained that the completion of the road, would go along way, to fast track socio- economic transformation of the people of the area, saying that the insertion of constituency projects in the budget by legislature was to ensure that all and sundry feel the impact of the federal government.

The Speaker then directed the House Committee on Works and Transport, to make arrangement for the inspection and inform necessary stakeholders within the next two weeks.

The House also directed its Committee on Works and Transport, to inspect the collapsed Ejji bridge in Offa and come up with its findings, following Matter of Urgent Public Importance, raised by member representing Essa/Shawo/Igboidun Constituency, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke on the collapsed bridge.
