Two brothers battle for APC ticket in Kwara

Date: 2018-09-14

A governorship aspirant in Kwara State, Lukman Mustapha, says his decision and that of his blood brother, Ahmed, to also vie for the APC ticket is to give people the opportunity to choose between the two of them.

Mustapha, who said this, yesterday, in Abuja at the APC national secretariat after submitting his forms, disassociated himself from Senate President Bukola Saraki and his new party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governorship aspirant, who said he never held any position or gotten contract under "the current hegemony in the state," pledged to turn the state to "a Dubai of Nigeria" if given the opportunity to get the APC ticket in Kwara.

Speaking on the allegation that he is a mole in the APC, Mustapha said, "I'm not a mole to anybody, I have been an opposition to the current hegemony in the state. I don't know what makes me a mole. I have never gotten any contract or held any political position under the current hegemony."

Also speaking, yesterday, a United Nation's official and Taraba State APC governorship aspirant, Surveyor Aliyu Umar, said to end the incessant issue of land dispute in the country, a committee comprising local tribal, religious and community leaders should to be put in place.

Umar, who had served as a professional surveyor at state and national levels and is currently a UN official, said if such committee was set up in all the communities across the country, ensuring the members meet and dialogue constantly, the issue of land dispute would be a thing of the past.
