The Chief Medical Director of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Prof. AbdulWaheed Olatinwo, has canvassed more dedication by Nigerian medical doctors to the development of the health sector in the country.

Olatinwo said in Ilorin that Nigerian governments at all levels could not exclusively provide for all the health needs of the citizens and the stakeholders in the sector, particularly doctors, to give back to the sector what the sector has given them.

He spoke at the commissioning of the secretariat of the UITH chapter of Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN). The complex was built and equipped with about N13 million by the local members of the MDCAN.

The CMD noted: "I am happy to note that the MDCAN-UITH has always supported the efforts of our administration to ensure overall development of the hospital and improvement in service delivery. We on our part have increased the participation of the MDCAN in the decision making process at the level of the top management committee of the hospital."
