Kwara United have stated that the decision to settle for Samson Unuanel among the coaches that were shortlisted and intervieved for the clubs coaching position was based on his (Unuanel) clear knowledge of the club.

Unuanel beat two other shortlisted coaches to the job as announced by the club on Monday.

Jamboree

- Of course there are many factors that needed to be considered before we arrive at the decision and Unuanel showed to us a sincerity of purpose to work and deliver for us, club's spokesman Olayioye Ajide told futaa.com.

- Besides, he has a clear knowledge of the club and that was why the committee recommeded him and had the approval of the Governor. It was a very strict procedure because it was noticed that the Kwara United job has been like a jamboree to some of the coaches in the past.

Screened

The committee, according to futaa.com findings include stakeholders comprising the Kwara FA, Referees Association, Ministry officials, journalists and supporters of the club.

Kwara placed 6th last season under coach Tunde Sanni, who also reapplied for the job but was screened out.
