Kwara working towards new minimum wage-HOS

Date: 2021-01-03

Kwara state government has called on the civil servants in the state to exercise patience as it was working hard to reach acceptable agreement with the leadership of the Labour Unions on the implementation of the new minimum wage.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Head of service, Mrs Susan Oluwole in Ilorin.

She said the state government had engaged with representatives of the Labour Unions since the commencement of the operation of the New Minimum Wage Committee in the state.

Mrs Oluwole commended the leadership of the State Labour movement for the maturity displayed so far.

She said the state government was working on what would be an acceptable living wage for its workforce and also sustainable.

The Head of Service maintained that the state government has submitted a working table to the Unions for their perusal and affirmation.
