Gov. AbdulRazaq Directed Us To Bring Healthcare Services To Your Doorstep - Health Commissioner

The Kwara State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Razaq has disclosed that his Ministry has been mandated to ensure that effective healthcare delivery service is brought to the doorstep of all Kwarans irrespective of wherever they reside in the State.

Dr. Razaq said the State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq gave the marching order to fulfil the healthcare aspirations of the people for which his administration was voted into power.

The Commissioner made the disclosure today at Ogidi Oloje in Ilorin South Local Government during an unscheduled visit to the Cottage Hospital in the area, venue of the Week 5 Medical and Surgical outreach exercise of the present administration in the State.

Dr. Razaq and his entourage met the Medical team busy at the various wings of the hospital rendering services to the people.

Among the services rendered at the time of the visit include eye surgery, general surgery, distribution of eye glasses and medical drugs as well as laboratory services.

Dr. Razaq assured the beneficiaries of the quality of the healthcare and readiness of the State Government to bring the desired succour to the populace.

He stated that this phase of the outreach is the seventh in the series of various free healthcare interventions by the present administration and shall cover all parts of the State.

The Commissioner, who later joined in the distribution of reading glasses to no fewer than 67 people to improve their reading ability, commended the team under the astute coordination of the Director, Medical Services and Training, Dr Johnson Oyeniyi.

Briefing the Commissioner, Dr. Oyeniyi explained that over 180 patients have received attention for medical consultations, adding that the set target for surgical cases were exceeded to accommodate everyone that has shown enthusiasm for the free healthcare services.

He further assured the public that his team shall proceed to Primary Health Centre, Bode-Saadu next week Thursday, advising indigent members of the public having eye challenges and other ailments requiring medication or surgery to avail themselves of this opportunity of free healthcare services.
