In a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Tunde Ashaolu, the party described Maigida, as he is fondly called, as an innovative leader, outstanding administrator, accomplished professional and a patriotic and detribalised Nigerian who remains committed to nation-building.

"As the governor of Kwara, Ahmed demonstrated quality leadership and a strong commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of people of the State despite the daunting challenges his administration faced.

"Though he ruled during one of the most challenging periods of governance in the country due to an unprecedented economic downturn, Ahmed remained undaunted, innovative and left enduring legacies as Governor of Kwara.

"As he marks his birthday anniversary today, the entire Kwara PDP family felicitates Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and prays God to grant him many more years in good health and peace of mind as he continues to serve Him and humanity. Happy birthday Sai Maigida," the statement reads in part.
