Kwara Govt tasks private tertiary institutions on synergy with public institutions
The Kwara Government has charged heads of private tertiary institutions in the state to collaborate with public tertiary institutions to boost the education sector in the state.
The state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Afees Abolore, made the call during an interface with heads of private Colleges of Education, Colleges of Health Technology and Health Sciences, private Polytechnics, Colleges of Technology and Skill Acquisition Centres in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the education ministry's Press Secretary, Mrs Mansurat Amuda-kannike, on Monday in Ilorin.
The commissioner said this was to boost effective service delivery in the tertiary education system.
Abolore enjoined them to support the policy thrust of the present administration of Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq towards a robust output and effective service delivery across the institutions.
He expressed the state government's readiness to support the private tertiary institutions to thrive productively.
The statement quoted the proprietor of Primera International College of Health Science and Technology, Prof. Jimoh AbdulGafar, expressing confidence that collaboration with government-owned tertiary institutions was an innovation that would further enhance a sustainable and robust service delivery.
AbdulGafar, responding on behalf of his colleagues, pledged their support to the state government's policy thrust and direction to achieve a common goal.
The statement added that the meeting was attended by all directors in the ministry and all heads of private tertiary institutions in the state.
