The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) Wednesday disqualified Kwara State's Bisola Asaju from the table tennis event of the Eko 2012 Games.

Ondo State had protested Asaju's eligibility for the Games, thereby prompting the NTTF to look closely into the case. According to a statement signed by NTTF Secretary General, Segun Oguntade, Asaju had featured in three previous festivals and is not eligible to feature at this year's edition.

"It was established that Bisola Asaju played in the 15th, 16th and 17th National Sports Festivals held in Abeokuta, Kaduna and Port Harcourt respectively," the statement read.

"The Kwara coach and Asaju denied initially that she played in Abeokuta, but after showing her the records of her performance at Gateway Games, she confirmed playing at the Games.

"In view of the above, with evidences before the jury, members unanimously upheld the Ondo State protest and awarded the match to Ondo State while Asaju has been suspended from playing in the 18th National Sports Festival."
