KWASU and Ore Asomu Community Sign Deed of Gift

In recognition of the impact of Kwara State University, Malete in communities in Kwara State, Ore Asomu in Moro Local Government Area donated a parcel of land in the community for the use of the institution.

Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony on Tuesday February 28, 2023, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh thanked the community for their readiness to partner with the University assuring the community of judicious use of the land.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor pledged to commence work on the land as soon as possible adding that the University look forward to greater synergy between communities and the institution.

Also speaking at the event, the Director, Centre for Basic and Advanced Studies, Dr. Sulaiman Shehu Adua expressed appreciation to the community for the kind gesture.

He noted that while KWASU has in no small way impacted on the community by renovating classrooms and the library in Asomu Secondary School, he added that the Institution has found other ways of helping the community through the presence of the Centre.

Dr. Adua recalled that the initiative to add even more value to Ore Asomu community began with the late Vice Chancellor, Prof. M.M. Akanbi SAN and expressed joy that the initiative has become a reality.

The Alangua of Asomu Community, Alhaji Usman Baba assured the Management of the University of the cooperation of the community stressing that KWASU can begin work on the land with immediate effect.
