Kwara Commissioner Enjoins Water Corporation Staff On Proactiveness
The Commissioner for the Ministry of Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, has urged the staff of the Kwara State Water Corporation, Ilorin to be more proactive in their services to the people.
The Commissioner stated this when he paid a familiarisation visit to the Corporation Office today in Ilorin, the state capital, noting that despite their enormous and quality service the revenue generation of the corporation does not commensurate with the work been carried out.
Honourable Lade advised them to look inward and to also identify cluster customers and improve the service in order to increase the revenue generation.
He further stated that they should seek for alternative source of power generation and work as a team to move the corporation to next level.
Lade who appreciated the corporation Secretary, Alhaji Buhari Kayode Sani, for the provision of furnitures, fans and refurbishing of the truck for easy distribution of chemicals to various Water Works in the state, also promised to look into all their challenges.
Also during the occasion, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Asonibare Omolola Christiana, said that the purpose of the visit was to acquaint them with the strengths and weaknesses of the corporation with a view to proffering solutions.
Earlier, the Corporation Secretary, Buhari Kayode Sani, briefed the Commissioner on the challenges mitigating against the corporation.
He appealed to the Honourable Commissioner to help address this challenges to enhance their operational performance.
In the Commissioner's entourage was the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Asonibare Omolola Christiana; Director Personnel Finance and Supply, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Shuaib; Director Water Engineering Services, Engr. Wapo Yusuf; Director Hydrogeology, Mr. Adebayo Abdlul Rasaq and Chief Administrative Officer, Hajia Raliat Abdulhamid Sala.
