State Government Approves Power Transformer Relocation to Enhance Electricity
According to a news report from the Kwara State Government Facebook Page, the Kwara State Government has approved the relocation of a 15MVA, 33/11KV power transformer from Budo-Esho to the Sobi Sub-Injection Station in Ilorin, the state capital. This initiative aims to restore uninterrupted electricity supply and improve living standards for residents in Sobi communities and surrounding areas.
The Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy, made this announcement in a statement issued from his office. He explained that the relocation of the 15MVA transformer is intended to replace the existing 1 x 7.5MVA, 33/11KV transformer at the Sobi substation. This move is expected to significantly enhance the living standards and socioeconomic growth of the area's residents.
He disclosed that "This power transformer will serve Sobi Barracks, Gambari, Okelele, Sefura, Kankatu, Alagbado, Sobi mountain and its environs."
While appreciating Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his remarkable efforts at creating stable power supply for citizens, Engr. AbdulGaniy commended the Management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) for providing the facility and working to improve the supply of electricity in Kwara State.
