Kwara State House of Assembly Raises 2024 Budget By N217.1bn
According to a news report from Leadership, the Kwara State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of N509,889,985,435.90 for the state government.
This move increases the original 2024 budget of N292,741,292,132.30 by 217,180,693,303.
The budget was deliberated and approved by the Committee of Supply during yesterday's plenary session.
In presenting the report, Hon. Arinola Lawal, the chairperson of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, outlined that the purpose of the budget is to fund capital projects and complete ongoing and new infrastructures throughout the state.
Lawal urged her colleagues to back the passage of the budget in the interest of the state's development.
Subsequently, the Speaker of the House, Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, announced the passage of the supplementary appropriation budget following a majority voice vote in favour.
