Patigi community commends Ahmed on Patigi-Kpada-Echi-Wada road
A community leader in Patigi, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State and the deputy Speaker in the state House of Assembly, Honourable Mohammed Gana Yisa, has commended the present administration in the state on the tempo and quality of work on 45 kilometre Patigi-Kpada through Echi-Wada road being executed by the state government.
Speaking with Community News during a visit to his Constituency to inspect the road, the lawmaker, on behalf of his constituents, said the road project had positively impacted on lives and economy of the people of Patigi Local Government and its environs, adding that a journey which hitherto was made in two hours was now undertaken in less than one hour.
In a similar development, the senior village head of Echi-Wada community, Alhaji Mohammed Lazi Yisa, gave kudos to the present administration for giving rural road development a priority attention, adding that the projects had aided farmers in the community a lot.
The deputy speaker, who lauded the Governor Ahmed-led administration for its various development programmes and projects across the state, thanked the governor for his love towards the people of the area and pledged loyalty and cooperation of the people for his administration.
Hon. Yisa, who is also a practising farmer, said the ongoing road project in the area had positively assisted him in getting buyers for his produce like other farmers in the locality due to easy transportation of their produce.
In a similar vein, the deputy speaker, who is a renowned professor of Agricultural Engineering has harvested a particular cassava tuber of over 12 feet long in his farmer.
The farmer-lawmaker said he made the discovery while supervising harvest on his 50-hectare cassava farm in Echi-Wada in Patigi Local Government Area.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Yisa said that he had never experienced such in his life since his sojourn in farming trade, coupled with his tutelage under his father, who was also a farmer.
He said the discovery was worthy of being placed in Guinness Book of Record for posterity.
