KWAITA President Pledges Collaboration with Kwara Government to Protect Igbo Traders

The newly sworn-in president of the Kwara Igbo Traders Association (KWAITA), Chief Bonachuks Udoka Chukwuemeka, has pledged to work closely with the Kwara State government to ensure the protection and prosperity of Igbo-owned businesses in the state.

Speaking during his acceptance speech after the association's election held on November 14th, Chief Chukwuemeka reiterated his commitment to fostering a conducive environment for business growth and collaboration.

The new executive team includes:

1. Prince Eze Ohaeri as First Vice President
2. Mr. Aloysius Nwora as Second Vice President
3. Engineer Igwe Victor as Secretary General
5. Maduabuchi Ezuike as First Assistant Secretary
6. Ezeobi Chinedu as Second Assistant Secretary
7. Sunday Okafor as Financial Secretary
8. Azubike Nwokwa as Assistant Financial Secretary

Chief Chukwuemeka assured that under his leadership, KWAITA would champion the interests of its members and contribute positively to the state's economic development.

Others are Chief Nathaniel Nwogwugwu; Treasurer Peter Iloegbo; Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ifeanyi Success; Assistant PRO, Sunday Ezenwa; Chief Provost Simon Onowo; Assistant Provost Raphael Onorah, Chief Welfare Officer Orizu Kenneth; Second Welfare Officer Damian Onwa Dike and Third Welfare Officer.

Chief Udoka, who currently holds the position of Vice President (Commerce) at the Kwara State Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KWACCIMA), as well as being the president of the Indigenous People of Anambra State Town unions (ASATU), assured Igbo traders of his dedication to advancing their welfare and interests.

In addition, he pledged to closely engage with the state government led by Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq of Kwara state and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless operation and protection of Igbo businesses.

Chief Udoka who urged Igbo traders to uphold the law and refrain from any actions that could incite discord between them and the local community assured that under his leadership, no Igbo trader would face victimization.

The election was overseen by the executive committee of the Igbo Community Association, Kwara State, under the leadership of President General, Chief Boniface Okeke, who commended the traders and encouraged the newly elected officers to elevate the traders to new heights.

Immediate past President, Sr. Emma Ezezue, expressed sincere gratitude to the traders for their support during his tenure and urged the new executive committee to surpass their achievements as he formally handed over the reins.
