KWSRRA Rolls Out 96 Registration Centres for Kwara's Security Identification Drive

Date: 2025-03-10

The Kwara State Government has directed all residents to register with the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA) , stressing that accurate demographic data is critical to its initiatives in enhancing public security, providing scholarships, and planning economic development.

In a statement issued over the weekend, the KWSRRA confirmed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has mandated the agency to register every resident and issue them a unique State Security Identification (SSID) number/card .

Acting General Manager of the KWSRRA, Tajudeen Jimoh, stated that registration is currently underway at 96 centres across the state, with plans to expand coverage to ensure maximum participation. The SSID system aims to streamline governance, improve service delivery, and prioritise resource allocation based on verified population data.

“We are also working closely with the Ministries of Education and Human Capital Development, Tertiary Education, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Kwara State Social Investment Programmes to mobilise residents for this crucial exercise,” Jimoh stated.

The SSID number will now be a requirement for key government services, including exam registrations for Common Entrance, Junior and Senior Secondary School Exams (JSSCE & SSCE), scholarships and grants under state social investment programmes, admissions into state-owned tertiary institutions, and other government services requiring official identification.

“Going forward, students registering for any exams or seeking scholarships will be required to provide their SSID numbers, along with those of their parents or guardians,” Jimoh explained.

The state government has already captured all government workers and pensioners into the SSID system, marking significant progress in building a credible database of Kwara residents.

Officials stress that the initiative is critical for security and economic planning, urging residents to support the process for enhanced governance, welfare, and safety measures.
