No Extensions: Pilgrims Must Pay ?8.46m by 11th April, Says Kwara Board

Date: 2025-04-09

Alhaji Abdulkadri Abdulsalam, Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, has announced Friday, 11th April 2025 as the final deadline for all payments related to the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage for intending pilgrims from the state.

Abdulsalam disclosed this during an interview on Sobi FM, where he outlined critical details for the upcoming pilgrimage. He confirmed the total cost for this year's Hajj as ?8,459,000, urging pilgrims who have made partial payments to settle their balances before the deadline.

“No extensions will be granted. All intending pilgrims must complete their payments by 11th April to secure their slots,” Abdulsalam emphasised, advising applicants to visit designated banks or the board's office for transactions.

“The Board will not accept any payments after this date,” he declared.

The secretary also urged pilgrims to submit their international passports for visa processing without delay, noting that only valid passports with a minimum of six months validity will be accepted to avoid complications.

On the conduct of pilgrims, Alhaji Abdulsalam advised them to maintain exemplary behaviour throughout their journey, reminding them that they represent not only themselves but also Kwara State while emphasizing the importance of upholding high standards of morality and decorum during the pilgrimage.

The Secretary also announced that the Board would soon provide dates for mandatory enlightenment programmes and vaccination exercises. These sessions will focus on Hajj rites, travel protocols, and health requirements, ensuring pilgrims are well-prepared for their spiritual journey.

Furthermore, Alhaji Abdulsalam disclosed that Max Air will serve as the official airline for transporting Kwara State pilgrims. The Board is working closely with the airline to ensure a comfortable and timely airlift for all participants.

He, however, reaffirmed the Board's commitment to facilitating a smooth and successful Hajj exercise for all pilgrims from Kwara State and encouraged anyone with inquiries to reach out to the Board's office for clarification on any aspect of the pilgrimage process.
