Kwara Governor Hails 49km Federal Road Project as Renewed Hope Agenda Delivers

Date: 2025-08-04

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has inspected the ongoing construction of the 49-kilometre Eiyenkorin-Afon-Ojoku-Offa-Odo-Otin road, commending its progress and quality as a flagship project under the federal tax credit scheme.

The road one of four major infrastructure initiatives funded by the federal government in Kwara aims to slash travel time between Ilorin and Offa to 30 minutes upon completion. Governor AbdulRazaq praised the collaboration between the BUA Group and federal authorities, stating: "This project exemplifies President Bola Tinubu's infrastructure-led economic vision. The quality is solid, and its impact on connectivity and commerce will be transformative."

During the site visit on Saturday, the governor received a technical briefing from engineer Abdulsalam Onaolapo, who confirmed accelerated construction timelines. AbdulRazaq lauded the tax credit scheme as a catalyst for rapid infrastructure delivery, adding: "This is another tangible outcome of the Renewed Hope Agenda. We appreciate the President's commitment to visible, impactful projects across Kwara."

The road forms part of Kwara's broader strategy to enhance regional trade and accessibility, aligning with federal efforts to revitalise Nigeria's transportation network.

Accompanied by the Special Adviser on Special Duties, AbdulRazaq Jiddah, and the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, the governor also inspected the renovation works at the Primary Healthcare Centre in Okesho, Asa Local Government Area.

AbdulRazaq said the people of Kwara State recognise the investments being made across sectors and would continue to support President Tinubu beyond 2027 to allow the administration's reforms to be fully realised.

According to him, the ongoing construction during the rainy season is a sign of commitment and efficiency, commending BUA Group for delivering work of high standard. He noted that similar efforts are ongoing on the Bode Sadu-Kaiama-Kosubosu road.

"The quality of the job by BUA is commendable. Even in difficult weather conditions, work continues. We've seen similar progress elsewhere in the state. It is clear this is not window dressing," he said.
