Kwara Govt Pledges Union Partnership to Bridge Citizen Communication Gap

Kwara State Government has pledged to strengthen collaboration with labour unions to bridge communication gaps between authorities and citizens.

Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission Alhaji Umaru Danladi Shero made the commitment during a meeting with the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers' Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU) leadership in Ilorin.

He commended RATTAWU for championing worker welfare a priority aligned with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administration and affirmed the state's readiness to partner with unions for transparent governance.

Alhaji Shero highlighted ongoing development initiatives across all 16 LGAs, particularly in:

Education infrastructure

Healthcare access

Road construction

Agricultural empowerment programmes

"Our administration prioritises open dialogue with unions to ensure citizens' voices shape policy," he stated, underscoring Kwara's commitment to inclusive governance.

The Chairman urged RATTAWU, as a union of media professionals, to continue disseminating accurate information about the government's developmental strides to the public.

In his remarks, Comrade Usman Oke commended the state government for its commitment to workers' welfare.

He also lauded the ongoing urban renewal projects in Ilorin and other parts of the state.

He assured that RATTAWU would continue to collaborate with relevant government agencies to ensure the dividends of democracy reach every nook and cranny of Kwara State.

Also present at the meeting were, Hon. Commissioner I, Abdulganiu Toyib Omotosho, Hon. Commissioner III, Elizabeth Olabimpe Abiola, and other management staff of the commission.
