IEDPU Western Zone Matron Hajia Fatimoh Toyin Mourns General Abdullahi Adangba
The Matron of the Western Zone of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Hajia Fatimoh Toyin Shuaibu, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Major General Abdullahi Adangba (rtd), describing his passing as a great loss to the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria as a whole.
In a condolence message issued in Ilorin, Hajia Shuaibu paid glowing tribute to the late military officer, whom she described as "a fine soldier, patriotic administrator, and nation builder who lived a life of service, honour, and humility."
She recalled that the late General Adangba served Nigeria meritoriously in several key national positions, including:
- Military Governor of the defunct Benue-Plateau State.
- Director-General of the defunct National Security Organization (NSO).
- National Security Adviser to former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd).
- Chief of Staff to former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umar Musa Yar'Adua.
Hajia Shuaibu described the late General's death as "the end of a golden chapter in Nigeria's military and political history," adding that he was a man of discipline and dignity who commanded respect both in and out of uniform.
She extended her heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CFR), the people of the Ilorin Emirate, the bereaved family, and the Nigerian Armed Forces, praying that Almighty Allah forgive the late General's shortcomings, admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaus, and grant his family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
Hajia Fatimoh Toyin Shuaibu, a respected community leader and philanthropist, also serves as the ISMAN National Matron (Nigeria and Diaspora) and National Matron of the Yoruba Broadcasters Association, among other social and humanitarian roles.
She is equally the Asiwaju Adinni of the Osun State Chapter of the Al-Fathiu Quareeb Islamic Society of Nigeria, where she continues to promote peace, compassion, and community development in line with Islamic values.
