The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, who briefed newsmen about the convocation ceremony, said the event would feature a lecture on Thursday titled: "Universities in the Age of Quantum Thinking: Redefining Quality, Relevance and Innovation through Engineering Technologies." The lecture will be delivered by the former Executive Secretary of the National University Commission, Professor Peter Okebukola, before the grand finale on Saturday, where degrees and prizes will be awarded.

The Vice Chancellor said the university has continued to promote among its students an undergraduate entrepreneurship training through which the students are exposed to new areas to increase their know-how of becoming job creators.

Jimoh said the institution also maintains its culture of research and grant winning among students where students win grants to undertake undergraduate research projects.

He disclosed that for this year edition of the programme which is the 14th edition, 44 students who won the grants received N100, 000 each to undertake various research projects.

He explained that four students each from the 11 faculties of the university who emerged best among those who applied constituted the 44 students.
