Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been confirmed as the Special Guest of Honour at the 87th birthday celebration of Chief Abdulkareem Adebisi Bamidele Akande, popularly known as "Baba Bisi Akande."

The landmark event is scheduled to take place on January 16, 2026, at the University Pavilion of the Federal University of Health Sciences in Ila-Orangun, Osun State. The ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m., is expected to draw a high-profile audience including family members, political associates, and senior government officials from across the country.

A key highlight of the celebration will be a birthday lecture titled: "Increasing Population, Insecurity and Inflation Crises Manifestations in Nigeria: Strategy for Managing Stakeholders' Concern in Emerging Cities." The lecture aims to address pressing national challenges within the context of Nigeria's rapidly growing urban centres.

Chief Bisi Akande, a recipient of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR), is a towering figure in Nigerian politics. He served as the Governor of Osun State between 1999 and 2003 and later played a historic role as the first interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
