Senator Sadiq Umar Visits Woro & Nduku, Meets NEMA, Savannah Shield Troops
Senator Sadiq Umar, representing Kwara North Senatorial District, has visited the devastated Woro and Nduku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area to assess the aftermath of the recent terrorist attacks and commiserate with survivors.
During the visit, he engaged officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and military officers commanding Operation Savannah Shield, deployed on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's directive to secure the area and facilitate safe resettlement of displaced residents.
Senator Umar pledged to intensify follow-up actions to ensure all promised federal and state interventions reach the affected communities without delay.
As immediate relief, he distributed palliatives and cash support to victims, visited mass burial sites, toured destroyed homes, and met survivors receiving treatment at Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin.
He also paid homage to the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Omar, and community leaders.
The Village Head of Woro, Alhaji Umar Salihu, expressed profound gratitude for the senator's solidarity.
Senator Umar thanked President Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and all Nigerians for standing with the people of Kaiama in their darkest hour, while urging residents to remain vigilant and promptly share intelligence with security agencies.
