Date: 2026-04-13

The Kwara State Hospitals Management Board has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening healthcare service delivery through strategic partnerships, as its Executive Secretary, Dr Abdulraheem Malik, attended the commissioning of the new state-of-the-art production facility of Sam Pharmaceuticals in Sango Ota.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration with key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector to improve access to safe, effective, and affordable medicines across public health facilities in Kwara State. This initiative is firmly aligned with the healthcare policy of the Kwara State Government, which prioritises accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for all residents.

Speaking at the event, Dr Malik stated:

"This engagement represents a critical step in our resolve to build strong, result-driven partnerships that will guarantee consistent access to quality medicines for our people. By aligning with credible local manufacturers, we are not only strengthening our supply systems but also advancing the Kwara State Government's vision of a responsive, efficient, and people-centred healthcare system that delivers better outcomes for every citizen."

A key highlight of the engagement was the guided tour of the facility, where the Executive Secretary was taken through the production lines and quality control units. The factory showcased modern manufacturing technologies and strong compliance with international best practices, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The Executive Secretary was accompanied on the facility tour by senior officials of Sam Pharmaceuticals.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to explore areas of collaboration, particularly in medicine supply, capacity building, and strengthening healthcare delivery systems in Kwara State.

The Board reiterated its commitment to partnering with reputable pharmaceutical manufacturers to improve health outcomes and ensure sustainable access to essential medicines in line with the administration's broader healthcare transformation drive.
