Anas Adamu Galadima Joins APC Race for Baruten-Kaiama Federal Constituency Seat

Date: 2026-05-05

Media, telecommunications, and public-policy professional Anas Adamu Galadima, also known as Zam-Zam, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) race for the Baruten-Kaiama Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Galadima formally entered the race after purchasing the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

In a statement following his entry into the race, Galadima expressed concern over "persistent security challenges, weak federal presence, and poor infrastructure" across several communities in the constituency.

He noted that insecurity, limited access roads, and inadequate economic opportunities have continued to affect livelihoods, arguing that the situation requires more assertive and strategic representation at the National Assembly.

According to him, Baruten-Kaiama deserves a representative capable of engaging federal institutions effectively and drawing sustained attention to the development needs of the area.

Galadima pledged that, if elected, he would leverage his professional experience and broad political networks to attract federal projects, security interventions, and development programmes aimed at improving infrastructure, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing social welfare across the constituency.

He further promised to work closely with traditional institutions, community leaders, youth and women groups, and relevant government agencies to promote peace, stability, and inclusive development.

The APC aspirant also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for what he described as visible development efforts in Baruten and Kaiama, noting that the current administration has recorded notable interventions in the two local government areas.

"No administration since 1999 has paid comparable attention to the development needs of Baruten and Kaiama," he stated.

He previously worked with Media Trust, publishers of the Daily Trust titles, where he rose from reporter and researcher to Business Editor, before transitioning into the banking and telecommunications sectors.

He has also participated in executive programmes at the Harvard Kennedy School, with focus areas including regulatory management, governance reforms, and programme evaluation.
