Kwara South PDP Youth Leader Urges Unity After National Assembly Primaries

Date: 2026-08-04

The Chairman of the Kwara South PDP Youth Stakeholders, Hon. Nosiru Abiodun Ariyibi, has called on leaders, stakeholders, aspirants and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across Kwara South to remain united following the conclusion of the party's National Assembly candidate selection process.

Ariyibi made the appeal in a statement titled "Our Strength Lies in Our Unity," urging party members to remain calm, focused and committed to the ideals of the PDP ahead of future elections.

He acknowledged that political contests often generate differing opinions and emotions but cautioned against allowing post-primary grievances to undermine the years of sacrifice and collective efforts invested in strengthening the party in Kwara State.

According to him, no individual ambition should be placed above the interests of the PDP or the people the party seeks to serve.

He urged members to demonstrate tolerance, mutual respect and political maturity by accepting the decisions of the party leadership in good faith, stressing that genuine loyalty is measured not only by victory but also by the ability to stand together during difficult moments.

"The people of Kwara are looking up to the PDP to provide credible leadership and deliver the change they desire. We must not disappoint them through division, hostility or actions that weaken our collective resolve," he said.

Ariyibi also appealed to party leaders, stakeholders, aspirants and their supporters to refrain from making inflammatory statements, engaging in personal attacks or taking actions capable of creating disunity within the party.

He maintained that while elections are temporary, the unity and stability of the PDP must remain paramount if the party is to achieve its electoral objectives.

The youth leader further urged members to prioritise the collective interest of the party over personal aspirations, expressing confidence that a united PDP would be better positioned to secure victory in future elections.

"Let us choose unity above ambition because together we are stronger, and together we will win," he said.

Ariyibi reaffirmed that the PDP's greatest strength lies in its unity of purpose and collective determination to achieve electoral success in Kwara South.
