APC Moving to Resolve Post-Primary Issues, Says Danladi During Kwara South Thank-You Tour
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has assured party members that efforts are underway to resolve issues arising from the party's recent primaries and strengthen unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Danladi gave the assurance on Monday during the final leg of the party's three-day "Thank You" tour of Kwara South, which covered Isin and Ifelodun Local Government Areas.
The appreciation tour followed earlier visits to Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Oyun, Offa and Irepodun Local Government Areas, where the APC delegation met with traditional rulers, party stakeholders and supporters.
Speaking at the palace of the Olusin of Isin, Danladi thanked the people of the local government for their continued support for the APC, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
"We are here as APC candidates to appreciate you for your unwavering support for the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu," he said.
He also acknowledged the security challenges confronting parts of Isin Local Government Area, assuring residents that the government was taking steps to restore lasting peace.
"The government is doing everything possible to address the security challenges so that normalcy can fully return," he said.
Danladi explained that the visit was organised to appreciate traditional rulers and party supporters following the successful conclusion of the APC primary elections and the submission of candidates' names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
"We did not want to wait until the official campaign period before coming to thank you. By the grace of God, we will not disappoint you and we will build on the achievements of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq," he added.
The APC senatorial candidate for Kwara South, Prince Lekan Adewoye, described the large turnout during the tour as a reflection of the people's confidence in the party.
Similarly, the APC House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency, Mrs Florence Olasumbo Oyeyemi, appreciated party members for their support and pledged quality representation if elected.
The APC House of Representatives candidate for Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Dr Rafiu Ajakaye, said the visit was organised to express gratitude to traditional rulers and party stakeholders for their support throughout the primary election process.
"Our visit is simply to appreciate you for your support for this administration. We assure you that our governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, and the rest of us will justify the confidence reposed in us," Ajakaye said during the visit to Igbaja.
Chairman of the Isin Local Government Traditional Council and the Olusin of Isin, Oba (Dr.) Solomon Olugbenga Oloyede (Atobatele II), commended the AbdulRazaq administration for executing developmental projects in the area, particularly improvements in educational infrastructure.
The monarch also acknowledged the government's efforts to tackle insecurity and urged traditional rulers to continue mobilising their communities in support of the APC.
In Ifelodun Local Government Area, the Elese of Igbaja, Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo III, described Danladi's emergence as the APC governorship candidate as a divine development.
The monarch also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and APC leaders for ensuring equity in the distribution of political offices, particularly the zoning of the Kwara South senatorial ticket to the Igbomina axis.
He prayed for the success of the party's candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Party supporters who addressed the gathering expressed confidence in Danladi's leadership, describing him as experienced, humble and capable of sustaining the developmental strides of the current administration.
The Chairman of Isin Local Government, Hon. Benjamin Olarewaju Jolayemi, and his Ifelodun counterpart, Hon. Femi Yusuf, joined traditional rulers, party leaders and other stakeholders in receiving the APC delegation during the appreciation tour.
