2027 Polls: Asa APC Leader Says AbdulRazaq's Projects Will Earn Party Maximum Votes

Date: 2026-08-10

The All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State and Chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof. AbdulRaheem Adaramaja, has pledged that the council will deliver "maximally" for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Adaramaja made the pledge on Saturday during the APC candidates' 'Thank You' visit to Kwara Central Senatorial District, led by the party's governorship candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Ilorin, Alhaji Abdulatif Alakawa, described the 2027 elections as a litmus test for politicians who claim to have strong grassroots influence in Asa.

Adaramaja said residents of Asa had benefited significantly from the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and would reciprocate the government's efforts with their votes for the APC in 2027.

"As the leader of APC in Asa, I want to assure you that we will deliver maximally for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu and all the candidates of our party, the APC, in the 2027 general elections," he said.

The SUBEB chairman highlighted various infrastructural projects executed by the AbdulRazaq administration in the local government, saying the people had witnessed considerable development under the government.

He also noted that Asa had produced the longest-serving chairman of SUBEB in the state, referring to his tenure in the position.

His position was supported by Alakawa, who said the 2027 elections would provide an opportunity for political leaders claiming to have influence in the local government to demonstrate their actual support at the polls.

"This is payback time. It is our votes and results that will speak for us. We will eat from what we produce," Alakawa told the large gathering of APC supporters.

Defending Danladi-Salihu's emergence as the APC governorship candidate, Alakawa said the Speaker had played an important role in supporting the AbdulRazaq administration.

He also recalled Danladi's support for Ilorin and the governor during the 2019 election, describing the forthcoming election as an opportunity to reciprocate that support.

Meanwhile, the member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya, assured residents that they would not regret supporting the APC in 2027.

Shagaya said the party's candidates would consolidate on the achievements of the AbdulRazaq administration and deliver further development to the people.

Addressing APC supporters in Ilorin West Local Government Area, Danladi appealed to members who remained aggrieved by the outcome of the party's primaries, including members of the G-15 group, to reconsider their position and return to the party's fold.

He urged party members to prioritise unity and work together towards the success of the APC in the 2027 elections.
