The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has congratulated the Grand Khalifa of Tijaniyyah in Lagos State, Sheikh Ameenullah AbdulSalam Alabi Akoshile, on his 77th birthday.

In a statement issued on Sunday, August 9, 2026, through his Chief Press Secretary, Sheu Abdulkadir Yusuf, Danladi-Salihu described Sheikh Akoshile as a respected Islamic scholar whose commitment to the propagation of Islam, peace and spiritual development has continued to inspire many.

The Speaker commended the cleric for his longstanding contributions to Islamic scholarship and the spiritual development of his followers, particularly within the Tijaniyyah movement.

"He is a respected Islamic scholar whose commitment to the promotion of peace, unity, and spiritual development has continued to inspire many," the Speaker said.

Danladi-Salihu prayed to Allah to grant Sheikh Akoshile many more years in good health, wisdom and divine guidance.

Sheikh Akoshile is the Grand Khalifa of Tijaniyyah in Lagos State, a member of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and the Amirul-Mumini of Oro Land in Kwara State.

The birthday celebration also attracted goodwill messages from other prominent figures in Kwara State, including the Executive Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, Hon. Shehu AbdulRahman Babatunde Ladan.

The Speaker's felicitation highlights the recognition of Sheikh Akoshile's contributions to religious leadership, peace and community development, as well as his influence within Islamic circles in Kwara State and beyond.
