Kwara State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tertiary Education and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), has secured accreditation for the Community Midwifery Programme at the Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (Ilorin Campus).

This milestone strengthens the state's commitment to expanding access to quality maternal, newborn and reproductive health services by training competent community midwives who will serve within their local communities.

The first phase of successful applicants has already been admitted, marking an important step in the implementation of the programme under the EU SARAH Initiative.

Applications are now open for the next set of qualified candidates from Ekiti, Ifelodun, Irepodun, Ilorin South, Ilorin West, Isin, Oyun and Edu LGAs. The fully sponsored two-year programme covers tuition and approved training costs, with clinical training, mentorship and the opportunity for deployment within the LGA upon successful completion.
