Team MM has confirmed that Hon. Mashood Mustapha, the Wakilin Ilorin Emirate, met with Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Saudi Arabia, amid speculation over the political implications of their meeting.

The group, in a statement made available to the press, dismissed suggestions that either politician had approached the other for political favours, calling the reports unfounded.

It said the meeting should be viewed as part of ongoing political consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections, noting that engagements among political figures across party lines are part of the democratic process.

The group disclosed that Mustapha had also met with some Kwara political stakeholders in Abuja before travelling to Saudi Arabia, without those interactions attracting similar controversy.

Addressing speculation about his next move, Team MM said Mustapha remained outside the country and had made no official declaration concerning the ongoing political realignments.

It stressed that his supporters' welfare and Kwara State's development would guide his decisions.

"Hon. MM is committed to his supporters and will not take any major political decision without due consideration of their interests and aspirations," the statement said.

The group urged supporters and the public to remain calm, adding that Mustapha would carefully assess his options and communicate any major political decision to his supporters.
