The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Offa Local Government Area have commended the Governor’s media Aide, Dr. Muideen Akorede for the community developmental projects embarked upon by him in the area, and also urged other political office holders to take a cue from him on his humanitarian gesture.

Akorede had embarked on the construction of the mini-bridge at Lamodi area, which had collapsed and severe part of the community from easy access to the Owode market for several months.

Goke made the remark during his commissioning of the project, which according to him cost hundreds of thousands of Naira to construct by Akorede, commending him for such gesture which he stated would alleviate the plight of commuters who ply the road, considering its proximity to the major market.

The importance of the road has further confirmed the genuineness of the humanitarian gesture of Akorede which was emphasized by Goke, adding that "the cost involved was so magnanimous and he did not mind, in as much as it would serve the community," he added.

Goke also informed the residents of the area that the local government would embark on the rehabilitation of roads very soon of which the Adeleke road would also benefit from the gesture, adding that the government recognizes that the area had suffered severe neglect from the last administration.

A commercial motor-cycle operator , Abdullatif, in an interview with The Herald lamented on how the collapse of the mini-bridge had forced him in the past to shun passengers coming to the area or charged exorbitant fares because of the necessity of having to maneuver through many routes because of the  un-motorable condition of the bridge.
